My specialty is making period-correct footwear from the eighteenth century. But, if you’re into laces instead of brass buckles, I can make just about any shoe that fits your fancy. And fits your foot.
That’s because all the shoes I make are ‘bespoke’. Meaning that they’re spoken for by an individual with two very individual feet. I don’t sell my shoes over the internet, because I actually need to spend some time with your feet before I get started.
I don’t make sizes like ‘9 and a half E’—I make sizes like ‘Walter from St. Paul Minnesota’, or ‘Nancy, who I met at Gettysburg’, or whomever you happen to be.
See, the fact is, I measure your feet, and carve wooden lasts (or forms of your feet) that I construct the shoes around. So they’re guaranteed to be just about the most comfortable thing you’ve ever worn. And each shoe is made by hand, so you can rest assured that they won’t fall apart in a two months like your average sneaker.
So even if I’m making your new hiking boots, or sandals, or moccasins, or what have you&emdahs;it’s all done the ‘old-fashioned’ way.
